2 Accused Identified in Cox`s Bazar Gang-Rape

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested the manager of Zia Guest Inn Hotel for gang-raping a tourist in Cox's Bazar. RAB-15 Commander Major Mehedi Hasan confirmed the matter at noon on Thursday (December 23).

He said Chhotan, the manager of Zia Guest Inn Hotel, had been detained for questioning. He was on the run after the incident. The woman was rescued from this hotel.

Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Munirul Gias said the woman was admitted to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital. The case is being processed.

Earlier, RAB said that they had identified the two in the incident by looking at the CCTV camera footage of the hotel. The two youths are Ashiqul Islam and Abdul Jabbar Joya from the Baharchhara area of ​​Cox's Bazar city. The identity of the other is not yet known.

An official of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station said that last year, a group led by Ashik stabbed a young man and snatched everything. He was in jail in this case. He was seen with various political leaders after his release from jail four months ago. Aashiq works in the drug trade and supply of sex workers in the area. Joya is one of his collaborators.

Cox's Bazar RAB-15 Commander Lieutenant Colonel Khairul Islam Sarkar said those involved in the incident should be severely punished. The matter is under investigation. That woman will sue. The case is being processed.
